North Idaho College Has An On-Campus FREE Bike Share Program
Check out this great new addition to the North Idaho College Campus. They have a FREE Bike Share Program! The NIC Outdoor Pursuits painted bicycles orange, (if they weren’t already), made sure they were in good working order, and put them out around campus for people to use. It is FREE, but they do ask that the bicycles stay on campus, unlocked, and you need to bring your own helmet. No more excuses for being late to class!
I may need to test one of these out the next time I am on campus in my vehicle. Which may be a long time. Unless…I am teaching a marketing class for the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center in the middle of winter, because I am normally on my own bicycle when on campus.
Anyone had a chance to take one for a spin?
Below is a blurb from the college about the new program.
Need to get across campus faster than your feet will carry you? Want to enjoy a cruise around school during your lunch break? Outdoor Pursuits and the NIC Employee Wellness Program have teamed up to put together NIC’s first bike share program! Look for one of the orange cruiser bikes in the racks around campus, hop on, and go.
The NIC Bike Share is a first-come, first-served, free and open-access model that is available to anyone who needs to grab a bike for use around campus. The only request is that the bikes stay on NIC campus, remain unlocked, and that you call if you see or experience any issues that need fixed (flat tires, etc.). Helmets are recommended but are not provided. The rider assumes all risk when riding an NIC bike share bike. Questions? Give Outdoor Pursuits a call at 769-7809.
